| There are several tackle shops on Galveston Island, however some are better than others. When I look for tackle, I hate having to go to several places to get what I need. This Academy store on the Seawall between 53rd and 54th streets has the best selection of sporting goods and fishing tackle on Galveston Island. This store is also the best place I know of to get a State of Texas fishing license. The fishing license can be bought for a single day or the entire year. If you get a one day license, make sure it's for the day you're going fishing. Also anything you buy here is going to be less expensive than local bait shops and marinas. If your going to the beach or going fishing, this is where you want to buy it to save money on things like sun glasses, lures, ice chest or anything outdoor related. |
